Meet
Casey... This African Grey plucks her blood feathers. Her
original owner decided it would be better if she took pliers and pulled
the new feather growth out herself, she felt it was better than having
Casey break into her blood feathers. This is extremely painful for
a bird. Casey was given up by her owner because she could not deal
with this problem. Casey has a good vocabulary and screams Food!
Food! Food! Food! Food! As she was food deprived and bangs on her
dish for more food. Casey now has a wonderful family that loves
her. She is a very gentle bird although she still plucks and will
probably always do unfortunately, but she did find a family that loves
her and is willing to give her all the attention she craves.
